Creativity is like a swing. I am free. I can go up and down only using my knees and feet. I feel the wind. I see the blue sky. I fall back and go up again. I don’t want it to stop. My hair falls behind my head as I go up and plunges forward as I fall back. I am a child at play immersed in the fun and delight. I am caught up in the moment.
“There is no must in art because art is free.” – Wassily Kandinsky
Creativity is being swept away like a river. I don’t know where I am going but find a way through wide open spaces, mountains, hills, crooks, crannies. There is no place I cannot go. I delight in the spacious skies, green grass, soft soil, fresh flowers. Sometimes I encounter rocks and other boulders preventing me from going forward. At times, stress, weariness, pressure and fear make me stop and remain in a puddle. It seems insurmountable and I stagnate for a while…sometimes a long while. Creativity is like a river, lifegiving and unstoppable. Whether I draw, paint, write, cook, knit, redecorate, it will find a way to reveal itself in my dayone way or another.
“Have no fear of perfection, you’ll never reach it.” – Salvador Dali
