I was at an art residency at cottage country, the town of Picton, Ontario. I had been here many times with family to go swimming at Sand Banks beach nearby. The shops and restaurants along the Main Street are a huge draw, especially the vintage store that was there. I went here for an art residency one summer for three weeks. I had a whole art studio to myself with no distractions from family, friends, chores, etc. I spent each day taking photos of the countryside, making and sharing meals with other artists, and finally spending quality time in the art studio. Every evening I took a walk along a country road. I noticed there were dead branches along the path. This dead branch touched me. It seemed to be reaching up to the sky, as if longing to live again. It made me realize that no matter how weary and exhausted we may be, Christ wants to give us the abundant life in Him. He Will satisfy every need we have beyond our imagination.
